This was a great time and the conveyor belt style is iconic without a doubt! Our waitress was a lot of fun and extremely kind even though we didn't need to interact often. This experience is definitely on the pricier end, but that's somewhat understandable considering that it's a novelty within the city. The only things that would make this a perfect score is better ventilation within the building so that you don't leave the restaurant with your clothes smelling of fish and also by offering more preparations of sushi.

Pretty good overall, but the sushi selection is pretty limited. The sushi they do have is tasty but nothing spectacular. The service is great and very kind. I think it’s a good place to try to get a quick bite and enjoy the novelty of the train. However I think they could really improve by adding new sushi rolls to the menu.

I honestly didn't know what to think, when I first heard about it, but I was blown away! It is one of the most visually stimulating and amazing places to eat. The service was excellent and the sushi was fantastic. My taste buds actually gave me a high five at one point! Give it a try.

Such a great place to try lots of dishes. Not a fan this trip of the egg rolls. Edamame is not hot and was best I've had in a long time! The menu is mostly sushi now. They have amazing other dishes as well.

We went to a conveyor belt sushi place in Osaka, Japan a few years ago and this was a fun find right in our backyard! The food was all delicious, and we had great service from the staff. It's great to take a plate or two for "appetizers" as you watch the options for dinner stroll by. The time between plates helps you fill up, so you don't get too many plates and overeat! We left very content in our tummies and our wallet!

They are just getting better every time I go there. I have been there 3 times and the vegetarian options of sushi keep increasing, first time it was avocados, cucumber and avocado cucumber. Second time they added sweet potato sushi and this time, they had avocado cream cheese sushi and did I love it. Nona there has really taken the restaurant with storm with her creative ideas and vegetarian options. I will keep coming back to this place again and again. Also, as a vegetarian, I feel the pricing overall is economic for eating sushi. :)

Been here a couple times (usually on a weekday evening). They have a decent happy hour drink selection and Asahi on tap. Just like any sushi carousel the cost can add up quickly if you go for the premium plates or end up packing away a stack of plates the size of the Eiffel tower. Everything was fresh and the servers kept our waters full and checked on us often. Part of the fun is keeping your eyes peeled for a roll or dish that you fancy and seeing it round the bend and come straight to your table. There is a full bar too and nice clean gender neutral bathrooms. Would definitely make another stop here for some good sushi that brings the same joy as getting your luggage from airport baggage claim (or rather all the bags from all the claims if you so desire).

What a pleasant surprise! Visited on a Sunday, and the experience was phenomenal! Excellent sushi, great service, and the most beautiful food creations I have seen in a long time. Thus one is a keeper, well worth a visit!

Good food, fun with the little conveyor belt taking food around the restaurant (make sure to sit along counter as opposed to tables, so you don't have to keep asking the people at the end of the table to get your food for you). Would have given five stars, but the portions are small. I went with a group and you really need to be aware (plates are color coded to signal different price points). If you are all sharing the cost may be better, with three of us the cost ended up being $145. Mind you one person had a drink and ordered six mochi.

I can't get enough of this place! My husband and I came to the area for 3 nights and decided to have dinner here twice! Great food and sake. We had the same waitress on each visit and she was so kind and sweet. What a gem!

It's good fish but that's the only redeeming quality. Prices are high and the portions are small, the variety is lacking hard. You can easily spend $80 on two people and not be super full, or you could go to a real sushi place with quality sushi and get more for your money. I've been to the sushi trains in Japan and they're a million miles better. This is a very pared down version of the real thing. Not to mention the staff act like they don't want to be there and I've been there multiple times now.

Good price. Not a lot of options. All of the sushi was great. Avoid non-sushi items. Would return if in downtown for sushi. Plenty if seating. Not very accommodating for groups bigger than 4.

Very pleasantly surprised! The food quality was really good. Good selection. Not bad selection of gluten free and vegetarian options. They have low sodium and gluten free soy sauce. There are options for hot food and appetizers from the kitchen as well as sushi on the train. Fun experience. I don’t eat raw fish, and it was nice that the contents and whether or not it was cooked or raw was clearly labelled on the conveyer belt.

Sat at the bar while we waited for friends. You should too! Andrew was hilarious and we had so much fun. Once we sat down our server was perfect. There were seven of us and she kept us in drinks, ginger, and wasabi. We had a great time and we'll definitely be back.

Very fun and unique eating experience! I would recommend giving it a try, you won't find a place like this really anywhere else. It's very Instagram-able. Prices vary depending on the dishes you grab, with the most expensive plates being just under 6$

Really cute place to eat. The kids loved the novelty of the conveyor belt. Sushi wasn't as cold as I usually like it, but I understand why. Watch yourself or you could end up growing a bill bigger than you expected.

Great sushi concept. Only quibble is that the rolls are on the small side but priced as full size. Flavor and variety are great. Staff is attentive and polite. I wouldn't recommend large groups (anything over 5 people) unless you are willing to be seated at multiple tables.

Loved it! The train is a bit of a gimmick but it's so much fun. The sushi was fresh and well made. The selection was consistently stocked up even with a big lunch crowd. My sushi loving kids enjoyed it very much.

Good food but bad service! 🙁 We were told that there was a 25 min wait and gave our name and number. Ended up waiting almost an hour before we asked about our table. We were told we were being seated next. Then we waited 30 min more and checked a second time with the host, since we were the only people left waiting. We had seen multiple people that came after us get seated. We were also waiting right by the host stand for almost 60 min so she could definitely see us waiting.

Turns out the host had forgotten about us… After waiting for almost an hour and a half, next to the host stand. I was upset and made a sarcastic comment about having to wait longer, which I do regret saying. We had been crossed off the waiting list by mistake, which was a genuine accident. However, the host then told me that I was being rude to her as we were being seated. Shortly after starting our dinner we were interrupted again by a server not assigned to our table. She told me that the host was having a bad day and I was told to apologize to her.

I am very sorry that the host was upset by my comment, but I find it VERY inappropriate that an uninvolved server came up to us while we were eating to bring up very specific personal issues about what was going on in the host’s personal life. I do think I could have handled the situation better on my end, but being asked “how I can make it up to the host” was way over the line. The interaction was over and it did not need to be brought up again.

As a note, the actual server assigned to our table went out of her way to ensure we had an enjoyable experience after this situation.

I have really enjoyed eating at Sushi Train for a while now and the food is great for the price range. But I don’t feel comfortable going there again knowing that I may have another bad experience like this. We will not be returning. This occurred on 10-9-21

Great sushi for very low prices. Definitely worth visiting for people who want to try a wide variety of types and maybe see something new you might like!

Street parking is a little difficult in this corner, I'd recommend taking the metro and walking the few blocks but otherwise several parking garages are nearby if you're willing to pay.

Seemed like a cool place, but never got to try it. We were sat at the bar, but we asked to sit somewhere else. Lady just disappeared. We saw an empty table and sat there. Lady manager told us it's not self seat and had us get up. While we were waiting, she told us that it will be 18% gratuity because we were more then 5 people. Still we were not seated. While we were waiting they told us to move because we were in the way. Lol. If you seated us we won't be in the way. Anyway, service seems rude from other reviews and from our experience. We left without trying. Better places to eat around the city. Not worth it.

I really enjoyed the service my waiter Jerry was really nice. The food was definitely passable. Perhaps it was the items I had but the temperature of some of the items were a bit concerning to me. The seaweed salad was great but a tad bit on the sweeter side. I think the largest drawback for me was the smell of the restaurant and maybe it was just a weird day for them but there was a really strong ‘restaurant musty’ scent in there, which at a point started burning my nose and eyes and stayed in my clothing. I’m sure it’s not something that can’t be fixed with better ventilation. But for this reason I’ve given them 4 stars. Beyond that I enjoyed the experience and I would like to be back but only if that ventilation is fixed.

Best place for entertaining sushi. Conveyer belt sushi is by far the best way to sample and taste rolls you've never had before. Bringing more than 4 people is a little hard to manage however. Booths are not large enough for 6.

Chew-chew! This was such a great little afternoon trip! Little pricey, but you have to come to expect this from a themed sushi joint like this. Sushi was fresh, sides came quickly and service was really friendly. COVID rules adhered to and no crowds to worry over. You want to try everything which doesnt help with the final colored plate stack. Experienced this in Japan, but I would say our experience here in the States was much more enjoyable. Staff were much more attentive and understanding of the whole process. Can't wait to go back and try other dishes.

I really like all of the varieties of salmon they have. Raw, smoked and seared. Each has a drastically different flavor! This place is definitely a fun place to eat. So far it's the only conveyor belt sushi in MN.
Currently my favorite place for sushi in the twin cities.

Out of every restaurant that we’ve been to since the shut down, Sushi Train definitely had the best Covid-19 protocols. They take your name and number down, and only seat every other booth, which I appreciate since I really haven’t seen the same in many other restaurants. The experience of just picking off what you want from the conveyor belt is so fun, and the food was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back!

Good sushi, and their salmon lovers roll is especially delicious. I ordered their food through pick up, and they were very fast with their service. The only con is that the sushi seems too expensive, compared to other similar sushi places (like Kyoto sushi that offers similar quality sushi at lower prices).

A very excellent experience here. Every staff member we met was happy to be there. It really seemed like they had an excellent company culture. The food was delicious. I recommend getting any fried rolls ordered yourself rather than off the conveyor, just so that it's hot and fresh. A place that's definitely worth going.

I have been here for dine in and it’s great and fresh. The two times I’ve gotten take out though, the sushi has not been fresh, and the deep fried rolls are cold and hard, like it has been taken off the conveyer belt instead of made fresh.

We got a salmon poke bowl and a number of things from the sushi train. I loved the poke bowl (my dining companion doesn’t like spicy mayo so didn’t like it), and the sushi was very good. I liked the smaller portions because it allowed you to grade up or down your food based on how hungry you were, and the salmon avocado, peanut avocado, sashimi, and most things were delicious when we got them. We didn’t get it, but they also had peanut butter jelly rolls that looked great for kids. Their COVID spacing was great, and for a more casual conveyer belt sushi place they did a great job of keeping people separate.

Had a delicious meal ordered but I was disappointed to find out that while 3 pieces of salmon sashimi are about $5, the Toro Tuna (single piece) is about $7. That is not an issue as Toro is expensive. But the piece I got is about a third of a full slice. Roughly the size of a quarter, whereas the salmon is about 3 inches (as are all other sashimi). I do not think this is the normal size, as like I said its barely about as big as a quarter, less than a bite. For $7. Not impressed as the flavor isn't even very full, its just very fishy. Salmon is amazing though.

Ive posted this review before but mysteriously all their reviews from over 2 months ago vanished. Was here from out of town for an event a while ago. We called to place a reservation a day in advance and they did not honor the reservation because they were too busy. Had to wait over an hour past our reservation time. (Kinda defeats the purpose of a reservation) Food was not bad, but over priced.

If you’re new to sushi this is a great place to go because you get to see all the sushi traveling around the room and choose what looks good (instead of looking at a menu and guessing what might be good). If you’re a sushiholic like me, it’s a bit dangerous because you’ll want to try everything!

So much fun! The final price will add up fast if you're not careful. Like I am not careful. Sushi plates vary in color which dictates the cost. You stack them up and that's your total at the end. Most expensive plate was $5.75 bit of course I had 3 of them. Wish they had more tap beer choices but still very cool place.
